Less Can Be More with Social Media

Social media is an important part of any business. It doesn’t matter if you’re selling a product or promoting a service, you need to connect and engage with your audience. There’s no better way to give your company a voice than through social media. Social media can give personality to your business and help you promote your industry. You might be asking, if social media is so great, how can less be more?

What I mean by this is that you don’t have to be on every social media channel that exists to be successful. If you find it difficult to post quality content on multiple channels, stick to the one(s) that make sense. If you are using social media for your business, update it regularly. Nothing looks worse than a Facebook or Twitter page that hasn’t been updated in months. Stay unique to your brand and identity.

As a general rule, you should be posting at least one time per week to make your page worth it. Don’t try to stretch yourself too thin with mediocre content on more channels than you need. One engaged and dedicated audience is better than multiple smaller ones. Having a centralized, solid social media channel can also be more efficient for your marketing as well.

Use the channels that make sense for your business

If you’re a wedding photographer, you may find benefits in using Instagram to promote your business by sharing photos. An event planner may find the features of Facebook beneficial for organizing groups and creating pages specific to each event. Different channels are great for their unique purposes, and you may find benefits in using multiple platforms. Find what works for you and rock it!
